Gimp make striped gradient and starburst Step 1 สร้างไฟล์งานใหม่ขนาด 800x800 แบบพื้นหลังสีขาว Step 2 ตั้งสี foreground เป็นสีดำ "000000" แล้วเปิดหน้าต่างชุดสี Gradient จากนั้นเลือกสึ "FG to Transparent" แล้วสั่ง Dupilcate  โดตตั้งชื่อว่า "myStriped" Step 3 คลิกขวาในหน้าต่างตัวอย่างสี Gradient จากนั้นเลือก "Replicate Selection" ตั้งค่าเป็น 4 แล้วตั้ค่าสึซ้ายและขวาสุดเป็น "transparent" และสองแถบตรงกลางเป็นสึดำ ซึ่งตอนนี้ก็สร้างการไล่สีแบบแถบริ้วเสร็จแล้ว Step 4 ทดสอบผลโดยลองสร้างเลเยอร์ transparent ขึ้นมาด้านบน เลือกสี "myStriped" โดยตั่งค่า repeat เป็น "Sawtooth wave" แล้วเท ลงไป โดยไล่จากมุมซ้ายบนเยื้องไปขวาทางโดยลากแค่เพียงเล็กน้อยก็พอแล้วเพราะโปรแกรมจะสร้างต่อให้เอง  จากนั้นในหน้าต่างเลเยอร์ให้เลือกเลเยอร์ striped ที่ถูกเทสีลงไปนี้ แล้วเลือก "alpha to selection" แล้วกดคีย์บอร์ดสั่ง delete แล้วลองเทสีแดงลงไปก็จะพบว่ากลายเป็นแถบแดง Step 4 ลบเลเยอร์ในขั้นตอนที่ 4 ทิ้งไป แล้วเลือก select ...
